Important information regarding COVID-19 (updated)

The whole world is tired of the global pandemic. We have been living with a new virus for almost two years. Here you can find the most important recent information about restrictions & regulations in Lithuania regarding COVID-19. We hope this will help you to plan your trip to Vilnius sooner or later!

What you should know about regulations in Lithuania due to COVID-19

Here is what you should know about regulations in Lithuania at the moment:

-> Wearing masks is mandatory everywhere in public places inside and outside where are people within 2 meter distance from you;

->  Сafes, bars, restaurants are opened, but regulation applies for the numbers of people inside. 

-> Museums and galleries are allowed to operate;

-> Most of the shops are open, however limiting the number of visitors. Shopping malls are also opened;

->  If you participate in the event, you need to wear respirator (FFP2).

Travelling to Lithuania

Self-isolation is not required for any travellers coming to Lithuania from 14th of February, 202. You will nedd to fill a passenger form and have a document prooving you were either fully vaccinated, recovered from COVID-19 or have a negative test result.

NB! COVID-19 testing is available at Vilnius airport. You can take a test before your flight in case you need to have a negative COVID-19 test at the entry of the country you are travelling to. The prices start from 30 eur and different types of tests are available.  

Everyone also has to register their arrival online prior arrival! You will have to show the QR code (you will get it when registering your arrival online on the website of National Public Health Center under the Ministry of Health) before going to the plane, bus, ferry or train.  If you come by your transport you are still required to register within 12 hours by filling the same form online. This is required for absolutely everyone coming to Lithuania. You can check the newest information on the official website to prevent the spread of COVID-19

If you decided to come to Lithuania anyway, please check all the newest information about flights to Vilnius airport or information about the flights to Kaunas airport.

Do not forget to check the regulations in your country before buying the tickets ;) European Union made a website with information about each country in Europe, where you can find all things you need to know before visiting that country. Vilnius free walking tours and other Vilnius City tours

Vilnius Free Walking Tour (Old Town & Uzupis) is running only on Saturdays & Sundays at 11 am with pre-booking only. You can pay what you want to your guide cash or by card. Do not forget that pandemic hit the tour guides a lot :) The tour starts Vilnius Town Hall (Didžioji g. 31- on the stairs near the entrance to the tourism information centre). At least 4 people needs to pre-book by 7 pm a day before for the tour to run next day.

From 29th of April, 2022 more groups tours will be offered, like Soviet Vilnius tour, Jewish Vilnius tour and Alternative Vilnius tour. Until then you can book a private tour at another time.
